How to create a pivot table
A PIVOT TABLE helps to summarise data by letting you combine and rearrange the data in the form of columns and rows from a table in order to obtain a desired report. It does not actually change the data in the table but simply turns into a different viewing perspective.
Step-by-step guide to creating a pivot table on ForecastingApp:
First you would need to have an existing report within the ForecastingApp. Check out this page for how to create one.
Get your data ready. Make sure that the data you want to go into the pivot table is in the view of your current report, each column neatly organised with clear headings - you can remove the extra stuff you don't need.
Click on the Toggle Report designer menu to see all the button options.
Click on the Pivot button.
A new view opens up, but you will need to arrange the data and move things around the pivot table by again clicking on the Pivot button on the screen.
Drag the fields you have in the view of your current report to the row, columns and values section, then click on the Refresh button. The data is now in pivot view.
There is also an option to view the Grand-totals and use heatmap colors for a more visually appealing report.
Click on the button "Set as default view" if you would like your report to always open up as a pivot table each time.
Finally, click on the Save button to save the changes made on your report.
You should be able to see the new and updated version of your report on the Report library dropdown menu from which you can always open it.
